Massive study tracks 117 marine species to examine the effects of climate change

In this new study published in Nature Scientific Data we collated 49 million detections from 117 marine species tracked via acoustic telemetry over the past 10 years and developed a robust quality control procedure to provide the Australian research community with an open-source dataset that will form a solid basis to examining the effects of environmental change.

This works was led by a team of researchers from the Integrated Marine Observing System (IMOS), the Australian Ocean Data Network (AODN), Flinders University, James Cook University, the Sydney Institute of Marine Science (SIMS), the Commonwealth Scientific Research Organisation (CSIRO), the NSW Department of Primary Industries (NSW DPI), Charles Darwin University, the Australian Insitute of Marine Science (AIMS) and Macquarie University.
